Big Idea: An idol is something you look to for things that only God can provide

But I am the Lord your God from the land of Egypt; you know no God but me, and besides me there is no savior. It was I who knew you in the wilderness, in the land of drought; but when they had grazed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was lifted up; therefore they forgot me.
— Hosea 13:4-6

The issue with idolatry isn't necessarily that we have too many gifts, it is that we value our gifts in the incorrect order! When we place the gift higher than the giver, we have an idolatry problem. We struggle because we think that these gifts will give us the satisfaction that we need when in fact God and only God will satisfy our most innate desires!

How can we overcome these idols? The antidote for this idolatry is to remember God!
