Over the next couple weeks we're going to do a short and (mostly) light hearted Q&A with our Pastoral Staff. Up first we have Pastor Mike. Mike has an exceptional gift for communicating the Bible. Paired with several degrees including a doctorate in preaching, The Creek is known for its excellence in preaching and teaching.
So, here are some things you might not know about Pastor Mike and the office here at the Creek.
Tell us about your Family!
In May, Liz and I will celebrate 13 years of marital bliss! We adopted Elijah in 2010, and he will be 5 soon. We adopted Judah in 2014 and he’ll be a year old soon. Then, surprise! Liz is expecting this coming July.
Who is the most laid back in the office?
I’m the most laid back of course! (nobody will believe that). Actually, Trent is probably the most laid back.
Who is the least laid back in the office?
Unfortunately, I have to admit being the least laid back. What can I say? I’m an intense guy!
Who is the office clown?
No question: Trent!
What is the hardest part about your job?
The weight of being responsible for shepherding people. I never felt this to it’s full extent until taking the job of a lead pastor. I’ll lay awake at night worrying about people and church situations. I love my flock!
What music do you listen to when you’re not at the office?
It’s split. Having been raised in Colorado, country music was part of my culture and upbringing. However, if I’m feeling spiritual (I’m being facetious!) I like to listen to artists like Guy Penrod, Charles Billingsley and Travis Cottrell.
What is your favorite coffee spot?
Need you ask? Mars Café of course!
What is your favorite sport?
Without a doubt, football. (Go Broncos!)
If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world for free, where would you go?
I’d love to visit Hawaii. Never been, but definitely on my bucket list!
