Christmas time is busy. Programs, concerts, shopping, traveling, and more shopping. Too often the things that we say matter the most (reading the Word, worshipping as families, attending church) get set aside in the hustle. We all know Christmas is busy. We all joke about it. But do we do anything about it? Not usually. "Next year,” we say.
Let’s take control and be prepared.
This year our theme for Advent is “Prepare Him Room.” We are borrowing the theme from an excellent little book and CD by the same title. In fact, we are more than borrowing it; we are incorporating the book and music into our own advent season at The Creek. Prepare Him Room by Marty Machowski is a family advent devotional that incorporates Scripture readings, stories, music, and even crafts for families. Sovereign Grace Ministries released a companion album of some excellent new Christmas music. Some of the advent devotionals my family has used have daily readings, which can make it difficult to find time. Especially when we fall behind schedule. We like that this book only three devotionals per week that work for families, couples, or individuals. We will post weekly blogs to help you prepare with supplies and music you’ll need, if you go all out.
